I started off as a landscape photographer when I was 21 and would travel around the world seeking out the best oceans and mountains I could find. When I finally arrived home, I entered the professional world of photography as a real estate photographer, but found it to be uninspiring and rather boring.
I then started working for various event photography companies and would photograph award ceremonies, gala days, graduations and school formals. I decided to challenge myself once again and took my first wedding photography booking and haven’t looked back.
I have been photographing weddings for over 11 years now. The first couple of years started slow, taking about 20-25 bookings per year as well as working a day job. Since 2013, I have been photographing on average 60-80 weddings per year and have been lucky enough to quit my day job. My goal as a photographer is to push my creative boundaries with every wedding I photograph while maintaining a patient and friendly persona.
When it comes to my approach as a photographer, I have always believed in embracing a relaxed and easy-going manner. I’ve found that weddings are brimming with emotion, and my aim is to let those emotions flow naturally. You won’t find me bossing anyone around; I prefer to go with the flow, allowing moments to unfold organically.
One of my greatest strengths as a photographer is my deep understanding of light. I believe that light is the paintbrush of a photographer, and I strive to use it to create the most enchanting and memorable images for each couple. Whether it’s the soft, golden glow of a sunset or the romantic ambience of indoor lighting, I ensure that every shot is perfectly lit to showcase the love and joy of the day.
Another aspect I take immense pride in is my passion for matching the right poses to the right people. Each couple is unique, and I believe their photos should reflect their personalities and their love story. Whether it’s capturing an intimate moment or orchestrating a playful pose, I ensure that every image resonates with the couple’s essence.
Above all, I maintain a friendly and approachable demeanor throughout the entire process. Weddings can be nerve-wracking, and I’m here to make everyone feel comfortable in front of the camera. My goal is not just to capture beautiful images but to create an enjoyable experience for the bride, groom, and their loved ones.
In the end, I consider myself incredibly fortunate to be part of such a special day in people’s lives, and I’m committed to providing couples in Brisbane with timeless and heartfelt memories through my photography.
My goal as a business owner is to be flexible and transparent. I am upfront with my client’s and strive to provide the best experience possible. I love weddings and I love taking photographs. This is my dream job. I often think how lucky I am to wake up in the morning and capture moments in peoples lives that they will cherish for ever. If you are looking for a Brisbane photographer, then I would love to hear from you!
Ironically, the only good photos I have of myself are from my own wedding. Below are some of me, my beautiful wife Jessica and our son William.
