Emma and Thomas – 24 NOV 2016
I have always loved photographing weddings at private estates. They are relaxed, friendly and has a casual feeling about them. Emma and Thomas were married on Emma’s parents property just outside of Brisbane.
Emma had her hair and makeup done in a wonderful and unique room at her parents house. Although it was dark and made of wood, it had a wonderful window that allowed plenty of light to come. Using this light allowed me to create some wonderful images of Emma and bridesmaids getting ready. Emma’s makeup was done by Melissa Coleman and the flowers and decoration were thanks to Brizzy Bridal Bouquets.
Thomas arrived around 20 minutes before the ceremony was due to start. Emma and Thomas had a lovely ceremony organised at their parents property, complete with chairs, flowers, a proper aisle and plenty of unique decorations that were designed by them.Although the sky looked ominous and threatened rain, we had beautiful soft light for the entire ceremony. This gave the wedding photography a soft and flattering light and is much easier for a wedding photographer to work with. The ceremony went off without a hitch. We completed the mandatory group and family photographs and then we went to another private estate just down the road. This was in fact one built in the late 1800’s and had been restored to its current state.
Emma and Thomas gained permission to use this premises and I’m glad they did as it was the perfect backdrop for their wedding photography. Their reception was held back at Emma’s parents house and was held outside. This again was organised down to a tee, with booze, flowers, decorations and even a pizza truck.
