How to look great on your wedding day
Preparing for the biggest day of your life, your wedding day is not an easy task. For any bride out there, their wedding is the perfect moment to shine and look great.
It’s the day you have been picturing since childhood. When planning your big day, you may ask yourself ‘How to look great on your wedding day’. With all eyes on you, you may feel as though you are getting all the attention. Hence, it is best to look your best and feel your best. As one of Brisbane’s best wedding photographers, we have some valuable tips on how to look and feel your best at your wedding.
Grow your hair
Having beautiful hair is something every bride wants. Growing out your hair is early as possible is a great way to make sure it looks it’s best before your wedding day. Don’t forget to go to their hairdressers a couple of weeks before your actual wedding to ensure all split ends are taken care of.
How will you smile?
As one of the most experienced wedding photographers in Brisbane, I always talk to the bride before having their wedding photograph taken as to how they will smile. It is most important to own your smile and not be hesitant in how you smile. Some people look best with a little smile, some brides look best with a big smile showing all their teeth. This is an essential part of how to look great on your wedding day
There are also times when a particular photograph calls for a small, soft smile without showing teeth i.e. looking out the window, laying on the bed etc. Whereas there will be other times when a big smile may be more appropriate such as laughing with your husband or interacting with friends.
It is also a good idea to think about feeling comfortable with your smile before your wedding day. It is a good idea to practice in the mirror or even take a few selfies. There is also the possibility of getting some teeth whitening before hand so your have white pearls for your wedding day.
Getting that perfect tan.
How many times have you heard of a bride or bridesmaid getting a fake tan before a big event, only to complain about it being to orange or not evenly sprayed. It is a good idea to find a experience tanning salon before your wedding day and find out what works best.
Keep a record of how the fake tan sets on your body and how it will look in your wedding photographs. Side note: Cameras usually over expose skin by about one stop, that is why wedding makeup artists always go a couple of shakes darker than normal, as the camera tends to blow out light skin.
It’s all in the eyes
As one of Brisbane’s leading wedding photographers, I have seen what works best for brides. One of the most important things is to look refreshed for your wedding. That might mean getting a good nights rest (try not to stress the night before).
You may also want to think about getting a facial done a couple of days before hand so your skin has a healthy glow. This is also a great time to get your nails done and perhaps fake eye lashes if that is something you want.
It is a good idea to also eat healthy prior to your wedding to ensure your skin looks its best. Cut out all sugar and salt and try and eat plenty of nuts, grains and fruits.
