wedding reception in sunshine coast

Lee and Matt – 12 MAY 2016

The Lake House in Sunshine Coast

Located opposite Sunshine Beach with stunning ocean views, spacious light filled rooms and exceptional balconies to host your wedding, The Lakehouse is perhaps one of the most popular wedding venues on the Sunshine Coast. Lucas has been a wedding photographer in the Sunshine Coast for over 2 years. Lee and Matt were married there in March of 2016. Lee prepared for the wedding in one of their bridal suites with her family. We managed to get some great family photographs of Lee and her family at Novotel Twin waters resort. Lee’s hair and makeup is thanks to Miss Nessi and the flowers thanks to Mondo Floral Designs. Matt was awaiting downstairs having a drink or two before the ceremony commenced. During this time, I snuck down to get a few photographs of him and boys waiting for Lee to walk down the isle.

Lee was given away by her son which is always very sweet and they said their vows overlooking the Sunshine Coast with all of their family and friends as onlookers. We went across to the beach for bridal party photos and bride and groom photos. This posed a particular challenge of shooting in harsh sunlight. By facing Lee and Matt into the sun (but turned away slightly so they are not squinting) you can get an even light with no shadows across their face, while managing to keep the exposure the same for the background, allowing the rocks, beach and lighthouse to all be properly exposed.

We then went to the lighthouse itself which is always a great opportunity for wedding photography. Please check out their photos below. After heading back to the reception, all the guests were treated to Novotels fantastic service to which they are known for as well as their 5 star cuisine.
